Back to School: Study Spots That Aren't Bobst
For when studying in Bobst just isn’t cutting it anymore
Before Midterm Madness starts to kick in, check out these awesome places to study around campus that aren’t the infamous Bobst Library. From coffee shops to computer labs, here are the best places to start your study game this semester!
An NYU staple, this coffee shop on Mercer is the best place to catch up on reading between classes.
With it’s warm atmosphere, contemporary paintings, and comfy couches, Think Coffee is an amazing place to study﹣if you can find a seat!
La Guardia Co-op
The La Guardia Co-op is one of NYU’s hidden gems. The Co-op has everything from Video Recording Booths and lendable phone chargers, to two VR headsets! Plus, there’s plenty of seating and five printers, so if you still want to be around NYU students but not fight till the death for a seat, check this place out! Oh, and did I mention the free coffee during finals?
The Housing Works Bookstore Cafe
Whether you’re in the middle of retail therapy or stuck in Laf this year, the Bookstore Cafe is an amazing place to hang out or study. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but all profits go toward fighting for access to quality housing, healthcare and more, for those living with HIV/AIDS. If you don’t get distracted by the amazing vintage thrift finds, this cafe will be one of your favorite SoHo study spots!
Silverstein and Hemmerdinger Lounges
This study spot on the first floor of Silver Center has some of the best couches within all of NYU. Known to be relatively quiet, this is the place for cramming for a test or even napping! The lounge’s location is hard to beat, with WSP across the street.
This coffee shop turned study space has plenty of seats and amazing coffee! Its location is unbeatable, right on Cooper Square and Bowery. Oh, and if you’re ever in need of staples like Tompkins Square Bagels or Amy’s Bread, you won’t even have to leave Pourt﹣they stock up on East Village specialities!
