Sartorial Time Savers
Top 5 ways to look put together when in a rush
1. Make outfit choices for the day the night before.
You have probably heard the advice: “pick out your outfit for the next day the night before” so many times. Often, however, the next morning, I find myself scrambling to find another ensemble to put on. The weather might be different than I expected or my morning personality is not feeling the look I perfectly coordinated the night before. For this reason, I always try to pick out two to three outfits, using the same shirt, pair of jeans, or jacket (and of course, accessories). This way, I can choose to be less dec
2. Keep a photo album on your phone of your outfits for a typical week and evaluate your personal style.
No one’s sartorial aesthetic is one-dimensional, but usually we all have a common thread amongst all of our outfit choices. Once you can see which pieces you constantly end up wearing, you can always base your weekday outfits around those pieces. Additionally, you should have those items in mind when shopping for new clothes and accessories. The lower cost-per-wear value will help you justify that shopping addiction!
3. Invest in a great jacket.
This one is simple: nothing makes as great of a statement as a good jacket! This garment can elevate a classic jeans-and-a tee-shirt combo or a basic slip dress without any effort.
4. Always have your favorite three pairs of shoes in sight.
This will take the guess work out of deciding which shoes to wear in the morning. You can save this energy because, honestly, we all need as much energy as we can get in the morning!
5. Vary your accessories!
This one is self-explanatory, but it really does help you not fall into the cycle of constantly repeating outfits!
Follow these through for a week and I promise you’ll master the time saving techniques!
